If
you come to Los Angeles and miss Espresso Mi Cultura, you have
missed the progressive cultural pulse of L.A.. Espresso Mi Cultura
is the Culture House of the future, a dynamic intersection between
excellent books & art, delicious coffee & desserts, moesica,
performance and convivencia. I just wish they were open till

Espresso
Mi Cultura is an appropriately beautiful place for books. The
commitment at EMC, it seems to me, goes beyond that of the typical
bookstore, and involves creating a warm and comforting atmosphere
for books and provocative discussion.

Visualize
a world class Raza coffeehouse: you get Espresso Mi Cultura,
the nicest, most eye and brain pleasing cafe & bookstore in
L.A. We are lucky to have a place like this in Los- and it's

Performing
at Espresso is like coming home, like being with familia. It's
a priceless space for LA artists... I've presented several works-in-progress
over the last few years and have always felt unconditionally
supported by both staff & audience. Espresso is that LA rarity:
a public space with a heart, a cafe with a soul.

Espresso
Mi Cultura is my home away from home when I'm in Los Angeles.
It's a place for serious discussion, serious art and literature.
There's something about the place that brings people together,
lots of people, standing room only. And it can't just be the
cafecitos - which are delicious. Or the collection of books
- which is always excellent. Espresso Mi Cultura has created,
in the words of the Zapatistas, an ongoing encuentro. And never
before have we needed it more. Que Viva Espresso Mi Cultura!

Chicano-owned
venues like Espresso Mi Cultura are essential breeding grounds
for the cultural warriors of tomorrow. The support, encouragement
and first hand feed back an artist receives from his/her community
is important towards the nurturing and survival of nuestra cultura.
There would be no Sandra Cisneros, Rage Against the Machine
or a Culture Clash without these venues. Cultura happens.

More
than just caffeine for la Raza and the masses. Quite simply
one of the best coffeehouses in L.A. Thanks to the bookstore,
free Weekly and monthly rags, and a counter chock-full of
flyers, you will always be in the know about local Latinos
in the arts. Excellent artwork for sale at modest prices.
Good music, jazz, spoken word, DJs, book launches. Kicking
back here, you'll be happy you live in L.A.
