We
are proud to be part of the most unique and long overdue exhibit
of Chicano/a art currently traveling 15 cities in the U.S.
over the next five years. Chicano
Now: American Expressions, is a 5,000-square-foot
interactive exhibit, produced in collaboration with actor/entertainer
and prolific art collector Cheech Marin. With his guidance
and support, the exhibit weaves tradition, history and, of
course, humor into a multi-media expression of the lives and
rich contributions of Chicanos. Written primarily by Culture
Clash in collaboration with a prestigious team of academics,
researchers and artists, Chicano
Now features custom, original art, three-dimensional
environments, original performances, film/video presentations,
music, history, artifacts, and interactives.
Espresso
Mi Cultura
is featured as an installation in this exhibit as an example
of cultural spaces that have emerged throughout the United
States that showcase Chicano art and culture. Chicano
Visions, the accompanying exhibit features the
extensive private art collection of comedian/actor Cheech
Marin. This exhibit is nothing short of breathtaking and certainly
brings attention to the prolific wealth of artistic talent
too long overlooked in our community. Visit this page for
information on where this exhibit is currently showing and
make sure you pay a visit when it arrives in your hometown.
